Named after the type of olive growing at the property, this Mas  is an exceptional villa set against imposing rocks to one side and beautiful olive groves to the other, in the provençal landscape of the Alpilles in southeast France, within a short drive of the small village of Mouriès and also from the only golf course in the area. The interior of the property is of high quality and generates a lovely atmosphere, with a wonderful balance of old and new features which create great character, charm, and warmth.

Services

Bed linen, bathroom towels and pool towels are provided, as well as weekly change. Cleaning is included 2 hours daily. Additional cleaning and baby-sitting are available at 15 € per hour.

Exterior

This beautifully understated house was built by a Belgian architect in 2001 to integrate with its spectacular setting in the Vallée des Baux at the foot of the Alpilles mountains, in six hectares of grounds including extensive olive groves. The location is a haven of peace, and there are panoramic views from the terraces and pool area. A large covered terrace provides a pleasant dining area and extends onto a smaller uncovered decked terrace overlooking the garden. To the side of the house is a shady lawned garden with a stone fountain, ideal for relaxing on hot summer afternoons. The large swimming pool has an electric cover and is set in a large terrace with loungers and a covered seating area.

There is a pool house with a sauna, sink, refrigerator, shower and wc.

Interior

The interior is an elegant blend of antiques and good quality furniture, and very tasteful decorative and modern touches. The accommodation is set out on two levels. On the upper level are the main living areas including a vast and comfortable living room with a piano opening onto a scenic balcony, a separate dining room and a very well-equipped modern kitchen with breakfast area opening onto a large covered terrace. Also on this floor are a separate wc, and two double bedrooms (one with a terrace, both with 160cm wide beds), which share a bathroom with a wc.

On the lower level are two double bedrooms: the first bedroom is the master bedroom with a double bed (160cm wide), a dressing room, and a large en suite bathroom with a separate shower, wc, sauna and hammam; this bedroom also opens onto the garden. The second bedroom has a double bed (200cm wide) and an en suite shower room with a wc and opens onto a verandah and garden.

There is an annexe with external access only whch contains a kitchenette, a double bedroom (160cm wide bed) and a bathroom with a wc.
